“Hexa-block” ©quilt – this is a traditional hand pieced (joined) quilt, where the main blocks are sewn by hand. There are several ways of doing this, and we use the English paper-pieced method. This is super easy and accurate. You will be hand piecing squares and hexagon pieces. You then have the option of hand or machine joining the blocks together into the finished quilt top.
To ensure lots of one on one contact time, and to give you the best tuition possible, with 2 teachers in every class, groups are limited to a maximum of 8 students. (minimum 5 students – you will be contacted if class has to be rescheduled)
We are therefore not able to transfer classes after commencement, to different groups. We also do not refund. We believe that the most important thing when you have decided to make a quilt, is that you have a quilt. That’s why we guarantee that you will have a completed quilt, even if we finish it off for you. That’s right. If you start a quilt and decide patchwork is not for you, Fiona and Mary will complete it, and arrange for you to collect it.
When you finish your quilt top, (4 days) they are then long arm machine quilted and bound and ready for collection 2-3 weeks later.
